- Preheat oven to 400 F. Place the sauté pan over medium heat. Add 2-3 teaspoons of oil. Let preheat for 3 minutes then add the ground beef to the pan. Stir and crumble the meat as it cooks. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a sprinkling of black pepper then mix well.
- After 3-4 minutes of cooking, pour in the gravy plus rinse the container out with 2 tablespoons of water and add that as well. Next, stir in the vegetable mix. Bring to a low simmer. Stir in the peas then remove from the burner.
- While the beef mixture is cooking, place the medium pot on medium heat. Add the Scallion Butter to the pan and begin to melt. Stir in the mashed potatoes and heat 3-4 minutes until softened. Taste then add salt as desired.
- To assemble the Shepard's Pie: If using an ovenproof sauté pan, simply spread the warm mashed potatoes over the top of the beef mixture then sprinkle on the shredded Cheddar cheese. Place in oven for 6-8 minutes. If using a casserole dish, pour the meat into the dish then follow the same procedure as outlined above. Please turn off all heating elements.
- To plate, scoop your Shepherd's Pie into a shallow bowl or plate. Enjoy!
