We're continually seeking out local farms and pushing the envelope on environmental stewardship at every turn — from eliminating plastic in our packaging to reusing all of our ice packs.

The People Behind the Magic
Doug Humble founded Prefare and leads the company as our Founder & CEO. He spends his days making sure the Prefare family — that's how we think of our customers — has the best experience possible.
Doug teamed up with Susan Ardito, our partner and Culinary Director, whose creativity and expertise have taken the Prefare concept to new frontiers. Together, they bring a perfect service right to your doorstep.

Susan Ardito leads Prefare's culinary team. Since 2016, her leadership and creative direction have grown our menu to an inventory of over 250 dishes.

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY — where she went on to spend nearly two decades as an associate professor teaching culinary math and cost control — Susan has worked alongside renowned American chefs Paul Prudhomme and Larry Forgione. She owned and operated two successful restaurants in Poughkeepsie, NY, and co-authored Math for the Professional Kitchen in 2012.
Susan loves developing restaurant-quality meals for people to cook and enjoy at home with friends and family.
